Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell was knocked out early on in the ePremier League FIFA 20 Invitational, losing out to Sheffield United’s Lys Mousset 6-2.
Cantwell nearly opened the gap straight away in the game, seeing his effort cleared off the Sheffield United goal-line as early as the tenth minute. It wasn’t too long after that Mousset wanted to show what he’s got, going up the other end of the pitch to open the scoring at the virtual Carrow Road, finding the back of the net with a solid shot past Tim Krul.
It was a nervy first-half as Cantwell chased the elusive equaliser, Mousset holding on well. It might’ve been tough, but it was limbs in the digital Snakepit when the Dereham Deco found that goal in the last kick of the half, scoring with his own in-game pro.
Cantwell started the second-half off well, scoring yet another goal almost as soon as the whistle went. Mousset wasn’t down and out yet however, creating some drama by going on to score two almost immediately after to take the lead!
Mousset bagged himself a fourth by muscling off the City defense and blasting another one past Krul in goal, before hitting a fifth with a headed effort in the six-yard box to make it 5-2 in the 70th minute.
There was no mercy from the United man when he went on to score a sixth past Cantwell to finish the game, before treating the travelling virtual fans to a bit of showboating in the last minutes of the game to progress further in the tournament.
