Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul has been called up to the Netherlands national team for their upcoming UEFA Nations League ties.
The Dutch side will face Poland on Friday, September 4 followed closely by Italy on Monday, September 7, ruling Krul out of City’s first round Carabao Cup fixture against Luton Town on Saturday, September 5.
The call-up is Krul’s first since 2015, after one earlier in the season was cancelled due to the postponement of international matches amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tournament will be the second time the Netherlands participate in the Nations League, Portugal taking the title in its debut season after beating Ronald Koeman’s Dutch side 1-0.
As Koeman takes up the helm at Barcelona, it’ll be a short turnaround as to who will pick up the mantle in Holland in time for the tournament.
Krul last represented his country in the European qualifiers, picking up a 2-1 win over Kazakhstan in 2015, the ‘keeper playing 81 minutes.
