Norwich City loanee Carlton Morris scored one of the weekend’s finest goals for Milton Keynes Dons on the weekend.
Picking the ball up inside his own half, Morris charged forward with the ball, beyond the Accrington Stanley midfield and defence, before putting it in the back of the net.
Three days prior, Morris had featured in a 1-0 win away to Charlton Athletic for Russell Martin’s side, the striker making his 100th career league start.
Returning from injury in the same game was City loanee Akin Famewo, who came on in the 66th minute for the Addicks.
He then played all of Saturday’s 1-1 draw away to Shrewsbury Town, Charlton conceding a sucker punch equaliser in the 95th minute.
MK Dons are now 17th in League One, while Charlton are sixth.
In the Swiss Super League, FC Basel rose to fourth with a 1-0 win at home to Servette on Saturday, Timm Klose playing the full 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet.
Philip Heise was involved in Karlsruher SC’s 2-1 win away to Vfl Osnabruck on the weekend, making it four consecutive wins. The former are now fifth in the 2. Bundesliga, three points off the top of the league.
After sitting out of the trip to Norwich City, Sam McCallum returned to Coventry City’s plans for their 1-1 draw against Derby County on Tuesday. He also played all of Saturday’s 3-1 win at home to Rotherham United, leaving the Sky Blues 19th in the Championship.
Blackburn Rovers find themselves in the top half of the second tier courtesy of four points from last week, Tom Trybull coming on in the 93rd minute of their 2-1 win at home to Millwall and playing 38 minutes of the 2-2 draw at Brentford.
In the National League, King’s Lynn Town were defeated 4-1 at home to Bromley on Tuesday, with Archie Mair between the sticks for the Linnets.
However, King’s Lynn’s goal came from Simon Power, who curled the ball in from a crossing position and won Man of the Match.
As for Slough Town in the National League South, they sit 17th after a 2-2 draw away to Chippenham Town, Louis Lomas playing the full match as Slough scored in the 91st minute to equalise.
Up north, Caleb Richards took part in Kidderminster Harriers’ 2-0 defeat at home to Kettering Town. The result means Harriers are third in the National League North, four points behind leaders Gloucester City with two games in hand.
In the Netherlands, SC Telstar lost 2-1 at home to Cambuur on Friday. Sebastian Soto was serving a suspension, but Dan Adshead played the game’s first 67 minutes with Telstar now seventh in Eerste Divisie.
Finally, Aidan Fitzpatrick played 84 minutes of Queen of the South’s 3-0 defeat at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Friday. Queen of the South are eighth in the Scottish Championship.
