Loan Round-up: Morris scores on debut for MK Dons

Carlton Morris had a debut to remember for Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday, as he scored for Russell Martin’s side to level the scores against Coventry City.

At 1-0 down with just 15 minutes to go, Morris’ sent his effort into the bottom right corner, helping the Dons save a crucial point.

Seven other Norwich City loanees picked up minutes on the pitch, one of the more significant performances coming from Portsmouth, as Sean Raggett played his part in a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon.

Fans were full of praise for the defender 25-year-old, who both managed to intercept an attack, and set up an assist for the side. Portsmouth now sit seventh in League One, tied up with Sunderland on 38 points as they battle for a play-off spot.

Diallang Jaiyesimi made an appearance for Swindon Town in League Two, playing the full 90-minutes in their 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra. Jaiyesimi went close to scoring from a short corner but his effort narrowly went over. 

Heading overseas, Charlie Gilmour made a showing for SC Telstar in their 2-0 win over FC Eindhoven, The midfielder played 63 minutes before being subbed off after receiving a booking earlier on.

Telstar are ninth in the Eerste Divisie, just a single point behind a play-off spot.

Rocky Bushiri made his debut for Sint Truiden in a friendly against FC Schalke. The centre-half came on for the second-half, helping to ensure no goals would taint Truiden’s clean sheet as they beat the German side 1-0.

Speaking of debuts, Philip Heise made his for FC Nurnberg in a club friendly against Bayern Munich. The left-back came off at half-time in Nurnberg’s 5-2 win over the German giants.  

In the FA Trophy, Alfie Payne made yet another feature for King’s Lynn Town, playing the full 90 minutes in their 1-0 loss to Ebbsfleet.

Looking locally in the Isthmian North League, Daniel Barden made yet another appearance in goal for Bury Town, playing the full 90-minutes in a loss of their own to Heybridge Swifts.

Bury sit fourth in the league, three points behind the Swifts, who have played three more games.
