Match Preview: Brighton Under-18s v Norwich City

17 January 2020

Norwich City Under-18s are on the road for the first time this year, as they face Brighton at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday (11am kick-off).

The U18s have been on a great run of results recently, going unbeaten in five games in all competitions. A win would not only take the streak to an impressive six, but also give the Canaries the points necessary to keep up with Arsenal, matching their ten points, although the London side have two games in-hand.

Brighton haven’t had their most comfortable run of results recently, taking two wins from the last five games, losing the other three. That being said, Brighton went unbeaten in the league for twelve games earlier in the season.

The Canaries last met the Seagulls at the start of this season, with the game ending 4-2 in Brighton’s favour as they took all three points.

The Seagulls have conceded just 20 goals this season, the second-best defensive record among the twelve teams in the U18 Premier League. With the Canaries finding their goalscoring flow a lot more over recent fixtures, it’s a big test for them to keep that up against such an in-form City side.

Updates from the fixture can be found at our dedicated Academy Twitter account from 11am.
