Norwich City Under-23s were left frustrated after a narrow 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Friday night.
The game couldn’t get off to much of a better start for the Canaries, when a run by Jordan Thomas ended with a tidy cross into the box. Gassan Ahadme wasn’t looking to waste the first chance, heading it past the ‘keeper early, taking City up by one by the fourth minute.
The visitors weren’t looking to keep quiet for long, closing the gap just 14 minutes later after Aidan Barlow got on the end of Angel Gomes’ assist nicely.
As the game reached the 30-minute mark, the battle for the separating goal raged on, as the sides tried to work each other out. Just 15 minutes remained until the break, and a goal could’ve been pivotal in the second half.
It was City who cracked first, Man United working them out just shy of the break. Aliou Traore got the better of Archie Mair, slotting one home to give the Red Devils an important goal by the end of the first-half.
As the second-half began, City were looking determined to find that leveler, pulling out all the stops to try and bury a shot into the Man United netting.
25 minutes later, and the tides were still in United’s favour, the Canaries unable to find the all-important equaliser.
Despite their best efforts, the Canaries efforts fell short, leaving the game to end 2-1 in the visitor’s favour, as Man United took all three points.
