Norwich City is delighted to confirm the three finalists for this year’s Fan of the Season award.
The award is once again dedicated to Canaries superfan Michelle Dack, who sadly passed away in January 2018.
Michelle attended many Norwich City matches over the years including 908 consecutive games by the time of her last match at Portman Road in October 2017. Her commitment to the Canaries epitomises everything that the award symbolises.
The club received hundreds of nominations for the award and have whittled them down to just three finalists:
Andrew (left), 59, is a lifelong Norwich City supporter and, despite relocating to Chesterfield in 1979, has followed the Canaries home and away for most of his life. He enjoyed a run of 425 consecutive matches watching Norwich City but that was sadly brought to an end recently after he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Andrew is currently undergoing seven weeks of radiotherapy, resulting in him being unable to speak and eat. His treatment is set to end this week and Andrew is already looking forward to returning to normality by following his beloved Canaries at Carrow Road and at grounds across the country.
Ashton (centre) is 12 years old and comes from Wisbech. Inspired to support the club by his grandad, Ashton has been through every emotion supporting the Canaries during his life. Ashton was supposed to walk out with the team as a matchday mascot for our Premier League match against Burnley but the COVID-19 pandemic meant that dream was dashed. However, Ashton has continued to support his team from home over recent weeks and said being named a Fan of the Season finalist will “live with him forever”.
George (right), 28, has stepped up for his local community during the pandemic. As soon as he was furloughed from his job as a chef, he created the “Supporting Lowestoft” Facebook page to organise and deliver food parcels to vulnerable people in his area. As well as that, during the last three months, George has raised over £6,000 for local causes. Away from his job and community work, George is a season ticket holder at Carrow Road and loves supporting the Canaries.
Voting for Fan of the Season will open at 11am on Friday, July 10, alongside the vote for our Player of the Season Award. Voting will close at 5pm on Tuesday, July 14.
