Norwich City Head Coach Daniel Farke says Manchester United will be desperate to win the FA Cup, making tonight’s game no easier for the Canaries.
“Manchester United is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world,” he said, during yesterday’s press conference. “The FA Cup is the most famous and prestigious, so they will be greedy to win it.
“Against no other team have we struggled as much as we did against United. They were too good for us at home, and at Old Trafford it wasn't our best game. We didn't have a chance in those two games, so we need a special performance tomorrow.
“It would be an extraordinary achievement to go to Wembley in the FA Cup. We're not like Liverpool or United. It's more like business as usual for them to compete for trophies.”
While the Premier League season hasn’t gone according to plan, the FA Cup campaign has, with Preston North End, Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur all beaten on Norwich City’s road to the quarters.
“Cup competitions are always a bit special,” Farke said. “We've done brilliantly so far with three really difficult away tasks and outstanding performances.
“We want to achieve something magic. We did when we won the Championship with record points and goals last season. Now we have the chance to create a miracle by staying in the league and winning the FA Cup.
“It's a big achievement to be in the quarter finals, but we're hungry and want to keep going. United are in fantastic shape and maybe the team of the moment, unbeaten in twelve.
“Cup ties always come at the right time because I love this competition. Many people will be following us, not just in the UK but all over the world. We know how special this game is. We always have a chance."
