Top 5 Norwich City options in Fantasy Premier League

17 June 2020

With the Premier League returning tonight, so to does Fantasy Premier League!

FPL have given managers unlimited transfers ahead of the 5pm UK deadline this evening to entice players back in. Here are five Norwich City players to consider for your FPL team...

5. Max Aarons - £4.3, 58 pts

Priced at just £4.3 in the game, an investment in Aarons acts as an enabler for more expensive assets throughout the rest of your team.

Aarons’ willingness to bomb forward, as demonstrated in our 1-0 win at home to Leicester City in Gameweek 28, notched him an assist for Jamal Lewis’ excellent goal.

A few weeks prior, our Golden Boy nominee enjoyed a purple patch of points with a clean sheet at home to AFC Bournemouth, an assist away to Tottenham Hotspur, and another clean sheet away to Newcastle United.

4. Emi Buendia - £6.0, 80 pts

Considering FPL players primarily score points with goals, it’s remarkable that Emi has totalled 80 points so far this season without a goal to his name!

That’s testament to his ability to provide for others, Teemu Pukki often the man profiting from the Argentine’s assists.

Of his seven assists this season, five have come at Carrow Road, which could bode well for our upcoming fixture schedule. With a team ownership of just 0.7 percent, Buendia could represent an excellent differential in your team, especially if he scores a few himself!

3. Tim Krul - £4.6, 91 pts

FPL managers will have kept an eye on Krul’s penalty-saving exploits throughout the season, both in the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Of course, we’d rather not concede penalties in the first place, but if we do and our number one saves them, that’s more points for him in FPL!

To emphasise that point, we conceded three goals when Manchester United came to Carrow Road earlier in the season, yet Krul still managed 16 points thanks to his two penalty saves! He also gets the odd bonus point by making other saves from normal play.

City have only conceded one goal in the last three games at home, so we can’t rule out a clean sheet or two either.

2 – Teemu Pukki - £6.5, 127 pts

Our Finnish forward became a must-have in FPL with his excellent form and low-price tag at the start of the 2019-20 season, his hat-trick at home to Newcastle returning a whopping 17 points.

Even when our results fluctuated throughout Gameweeks 13-17, Pukki was still finding the back of the net and rewarding those who kept faith in him for the long-term.

Having now had plenty of time to get back to match fitness and with much to play for, Pukki could become a dangerous proposition in FPL once again.

1 – Todd Cantwell - £4.7, 100 pts

He may not have scored as many points as Pukki this season, but Cantwell has always represented the best value in FPL among Norwich City players this season.

With the price you’re paying for Todd’s services, you might expect him to act as bench fodder, allowing for hefty investments elsewhere, but that’s not been the case. Todd was one of the first names on managers’ team sheets at multiple points this season.

Whether getting assists or scoring goals, Cantwell’s value has seen him stay in 19.6 percent of the teams created worldwide. With nine league games still to go, we suggest sticking with Todd all the way!
