Elsewhere in English football’s third tier, Louis Thompson featured for 67 minutes of Milton Keynes Dons’ 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Rotherham United.
Russell Martin’s side have pulled away from the relegation zone in recent weeks to currently sit 18th and eleven points clear of danger.
On Sunday, Coventry City reached the summit of League One with a 1-0 victory over Sunderland, who themselves are in the hunt for promotion.
Matt Godden’s early strike was the difference at the St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium in a closely fought encounter. Sam McCallum once again played the full match at left-back.
In League Two, Swindon Town stayed at the top of the table despite not playing. Their match with Mansfield Town was postponed meaning Diallang Jaiyesimi and co. were allowed a breather.
In Scotland, Akin Famewo and St. Mirren were knocked out of the Scottish Cup at the quarter-final stage following a 2-0 defeat at home to Aberdeen.
However, it was once again a valuable experience for Famewo as he recorded his 10th consecutive start for the Saints.
In the National League, Timi Odusina played 90 minutes in Hartlepool United’s 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood.
The north-east team are still within touching distance of the play-off spots in 11th place.
Further down the English football pyramid, goalkeeping duo of Aston Oxborough and Billy Johnson both claimed clean sheets.
Oxborough helped Wealdstone shut out Dartford in a 0-0 draw away from home, strengthening their place at the top of the National League South.
At the bottom, Braintree Town beat Bath City 2-0 to ease their relegation fears with Johnson keeping another clean sheet.
Overseas, Rocky Bushiri netted an unfortunate own goal in Sint Truiden’s 3-0 defeat to Mechelen and Philip Heise came on as a late substitute in FC. Nurnberg’s 1-0 win at Karlsruher.
In the Netherlands, Savvas Mourgos came on at half-time but couldn’t prevent Dordrecht going down 5-0 at Roda JC.
