Norwich City Under-18s logged their third win of the season after beating Southampton 2-1 at Staplewood Training Ground, courtesy of a brace from Abu Kamara.
The young Canaries saw three changes from the side that took a 1-1 draw against Brighton in the previous week, with Sean Stewart, Sol Alidor-Hamilton and Joe Duffy all returning to the starting eleven.
The Canaries broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, Tony Springett providing the assist for Abu Kamara to nestle his shot into the back of the net for the lead.
Southampton were quick to react, however, with Sam Bellis replying with a goal of his own just four minutes later to level the scoring.
The first half proved to be a tightly-contested one, but Kamara managed to turn the tide of the game before the half-time whistle, calmly finishing in front of goal to give City their second of the afternoon.
It didn’t take long for the second-half to show the same competitive nature as the first, with both teams knuckling down for a tough last 45 minutes.
Neither team able to catch wind of another goal, the Canaries fought to hold on to their 2-1 lead, returning to winning ways and bringing all three points back to Norfolk.
