Loan Round-Up: Famewo and Charlton continue impressive form

Akin Famewo and Charlton Athletic continued their rich vein of form after notching a sixth consecutive clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Portsmouth.

Famewo started for the sixth game in a row as Charlton continued their impressive run in Sky Bet League One.

Midweek, Famewo played 90 minutes as Charlton beat Oxford 2-0. The last two results have seen the Londoners rise to fifth in the league table.

In the Championship, Sam McCallum struck the winner in Coventry City’s 3-2 win over Reading on Friday night.

The left-back was brought on with under ten minutes of the game remaining and let fly from distance within moments of his introduction – Reading’s goalkeeper unable to keep his effort out.

McCallum played 90 minutes for the Sky Blues on Tuesday against Middlesbrough as well.

Elsewhere in the division, Tom Trybull notched two consecutive 90 minutes for Blackburn Rovers but unfortunately they suffered back-to-back defeats against Reading and then Swansea City on Saturday.

Back in League One, Carlton Morris made his return for Milton Keynes Dons’ as they drew with AFC Wimbledon 1-1 on Saturday, played 29 minutes.

Further down the English football pyramid, Archie Mair continued his run in the King’s Lynn Town side with a defeat and victory over his past two matches.

The Linnets lost to Wealdstone 3-2 on Tuesday, before reversing their fortunes against Woking on Saturday in the National League, winning 3-2.

Simon Power played nine minutes against Wealdstone and 23 against Woking.

Abroad, Philip Heise played 90 minutes in Karlsruher’s 4-3 defeat to Darmstadt at the weekend, with Dan Adshead playing 67 minutes of Telstar’s loss away at Heracles in the KNVB Cup in midweek.

Adshead, along with City teammate Sebastian Soto, are in action on Monday night for Telstar against Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie.

In Scotland, Aidan Fitzpatrick played 90 minutes in Queen of the South’s 3-2 defeat to Dunfermline Athletic.

In non-league, Caleb Richards, Matt Richardson, Joe Rose and Louis Lomas all featured for their clubs over the past week.

Richards played 90 mfor Kiddersminster in their 2-0 win over Blyth Spartans on Saturday, Lomas played the same amount in Slough Town’s win over Bath City.

Lower down the leagues, Matt Richardson played 83 minutes for Leiston in their FA Trophy triumph over Worthing and Joe Rose played 90 in Bury Town’s league draw with Romford.
