Loan Round-Up: Mair clean sheet and MOTM in historic Linnets win

King’s Lynn Town made history on Saturday as they advanced to the FA Cup second round for the first time in their history, and two Norwich City loanees were involved.

Archie Mair kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win at Port Vale and made a number of key saves, winning the fan-voted Man of the Match award at full-time.

Simon Power also played for the first 68 minutes of the match. The draw for round two takes place tonight at 7.10pm.

Milton Keynes Dons were also in FA Cup action today, their tie with Eastleigh going all the way to penalties. Louis Thompson played 68 minutes of the match, while Carlton Morris scored in the shootout to help see Russell Martin’s side through to round two.

It’s also been a good weekend for Philip Heise over in Germany, as he played in Karlsruher SC’s 3-0 win at FC St. Pauli.

The result puts Karlsruher 15th in the 2. Bundesliga.

Aidan Fitzpatrick got 90 minutes under his belt for Queen of the South in their 1-1 draw at Arbroath on Saturday, while Caleb Richards had the same outcome for Kidderminster Harriers in their 1-1 draw at home to Leamington.

Waasland-Beveren drew 1-1 with K.A.S. Eupen yesterday, Danel Sinani playing the full 90 minutes as the former sit 17th in the Belgian Pro League.

In the Championship, Sam McCallum was part of Coventry City’s 3-2 defeat away to Watford, a result that leaves the Sky Blues 21st in the second tier.

There was also a 3-2 defeat for Louis Lomas at Slough Town, who lost at home to Maidstone United in the National League South.
