Match preview: Southampton U18s v Norwich City U18s

27 November 2020

After a dominant half to rescue a point against Brighton & Hove Albion last week, Norwich City Under-18s travel to Staplewood Training Ground as they face Southampton on Saturday (11am KO).

Ahead of the game on the weekend, the young Canaries sit ninth in the table with seven points, with two wins and one draw so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southampton find themselves eleventh in the table with five points, after one win and two draws in their 2020-2021 campaign to date.

The Canaries are two points behind West Ham United at eighth, meaning a win against the Saints could see them leapfrog the Hammers by a point. The progression up the table might not last long, however, as the London side have a game in hand over the Canaries.

Breaking their losing streak of four, City fought back in the second half to earn a point against Brighton last week, Jon Rowe’s distanced effort cancelling out Cameron Peupion’s first half finish to earn a point from the Seagulls.

The Canaries last outing against Southampton was one to forget, after the Saints put five past City to take all three points in devastating fashion at the Lotus Training Centre.
