Norwich City are looking to make it three wins from three with the visit of Wycombe Wanderers in the Championship on Saturday (3pm KO).
Our Match Preview provides information on Wycombe’s season so far, the officials in charge of Saturday’s game, and how supporters can follow the action live.
Since winning promotion from League One at the end of last season, Gareth Ainsworth’s side have struggled to make the step up to the second tier.
A first round penalty shootout defeat to Brentford in the Carabao Cup has been followed up with six defeats out of six in the league.
Wycombe were agonisingly close to salvaging a point from their curtain-raiser against Rotherham United, but Michael Ihiekwe’s stoppage-time winner saw to that.
Over the following three games, Wycombe conceded nine goals without reply against Blackburn Rovers, Swansea City and Luton Town, failing to score their first goal of the season until a 2-1 defeat at home to Millwall.
Most recently, a 1-0 defeat away to Reading left Wycombe sitting 23rd in the Championship.
Considering 2020-21 represents Wycombe’s first ever season in the Championship, there have been very few meetings between the Chairboys and the Canaries - four to be exact.
Norwich have won all four, beating Wycombe 2-0 in the FA Cup in 1994, 5-2 and 1-0 in League One in 2009-10, and 4-3 in the Carabao Cup in 2018.
In that end-to-end game, a Jordan Rhodes hat-trick and a goal from Tom Trybull contributed to City’s progress in the cup.
Gavin Ward will oversee proceedings from the middle and by assisted by Adam Crysell and Bhupinder Gill. George Byrne will be the fourth official.
Mr Ward has taken charge of four Championship fixtures so far and dished out eleven yellow cards.
He last officiated the Canaries in their 3-2 victory over Bristol City back in February 2019, with Kenny McLean (2) and Ben Godfrey on the scoresheet.
