Norwich City loanee Jordan Thomas got his second assist in as many weeks as Leyton Orient came from behind to beat Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup.
The O’s were 2-0 down in Tuesday night’s second round tie, with Thomas sending a long aerial pass forwards to assist Jobi McAnuff’s equalising chipped finish.

Orient went on to win the game 3-2, to set up a tantalising third round fixture at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, September 22 at 6pm (BST).
[At the time of writing, the fixture has yet to be rearranged following the news that a number of Leyton Orient players have tested positive for COVID-19.]
Thomas was then rewarded with a spot on the bench for the club’s 2-2 draw at home to Mansfield Town in League Two on Saturday.
Academy goalkeeper Joe Rose also put in a notable performance on loan at Bury Town, for whom he kept a clean sheet in Saturday’s 1-0 away win at Basildon United. Town moved up to sixth in the Isthmian North Division.
Unfortunately, the remaining seven City loanees took part in defeats last week. Carlton Morris played all of Milton Keynes Dons’ 2-1 loss at home to Lincoln City - a result that saw Russell Martin’s side fall to 18th in League One.
The 2. Bundesliga began in Germany on the weekend, with Philip Heise playing 77 minutes of Karlsruher SC’s 2-0 defeat at Hannover 96, leaving the former second from bottom in the second tier.
Over in Iceland, Isak Thorvaldsson played 83 minutes of IA Akranes’ 4-2 defeat at home to league leaders Valur Reykjavik. Akranes remain tenth in the Urvalsdeild, with 14 points from 14 games.
Two Norwich City loanees featured in King’s Lynn Town’s 1-0 friendly defeat at home to Kettering Town, Simon Power playing 59 minutes and Archie Mair coming on at half-time for his Linnets debut.
Despite not keeping a clean sheet, Town’s official match report describes Mair’s performance as showing “good ability early on [to] catch a cross and then punch away from crowded boxes.”
Elsewhere in Non-League, Louis Lomas made his debut for Slough Town in their 4-2 friendly defeat at home Weymouth, while Caleb Richards took part in Kidderminster Harriers’ 4-0 friendly loss at home to Wrexham.
