Loan Round-Up: Drmic and Fitzpatrick find the back of the net

Eight Norwich City loanees were in action last week, Josip Drmic and Aidan Fitzpatrick both scoring for their sides.

Drmic played 88 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 win away to HNK Sibenik, going around the ‘keeper to score the only goal of the game. Rijeka are now fourth in the 1. HNL.

Fitzpatrick made an instant impact, coming off the bench in the 57th minute of Queen of the South’s 1-1 draw at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday and scoring in the 65th.

Queen of the South are now sixth in the Scottish Championship.

Danel Sinani featured in 4-2 and 4-3 defeats for Waasland-Beveren last week, getting an assist for Michael Frey’s second goal in Sunday’s game against K.V. Kortrijk.

Waasland-Beveren remain bottom of the Belgian Pro League following those two losses.

In the Championship, Coventry City took three points from six with a 3-1 win at home to Bristol City and a 4-1 loss away to AFC Bournemouth.

Sam McCallum played the full 180 minutes for the Sky Blues, who are now 21st in the second tier.

Similarly, Timm Klose featured twice for FC Basel, who lost 2-1 at home to FC Vaduz on Monday before beating FC Luzern 4-3 on Saturday.

Basel are fourth in the Swiss Super League and one point off the Europa League qualifying places.

Blackburn Rovers failed to win either of their two games last week, losing 2-0 at home to AFC Bournemouth and drawing 2-2 at Cardiff City.

Tom Trybull played just under 80 minutes in each game, Tony Mowbray’s side now 17th in the Championship.

It was a disappointing week for Louis Thompson, who went off injured during Milton Keynes Dons’ 2-0 defeat at home to Crewe Alexandra on Monday. Russell Martin’s side are 14th in League One.

Finally, there was a cameo appearance for Dan Adshead at SC Telstar, as he came on in the 86th minute of Monday’s 1-1 draw away to NEC Nijmegen. Telstar are now 12th in the Eerste Divisie.
