Emi Buendia said Norwich City were well worth their 4-1 victory over Stoke City on Saturday.
The Argentine midfielder returned to the City XI following a two-game suspension and was instrumental for the Canaries once again.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk post-match, Buendia said: “We’re really pleased with the performance today. We played a very good first-half, created a lot of chances and scored twice.
“The second-half was a bit tough to begin with but we always believed in our football. We still created a lot of chances and that helped us get a really good result.”
Buendia was directly involved in three of City’s goals, scoring the third after brilliant work down the left flank by Dimitris Giannoulis who, moments earlier, made a mistake which led to Stoke's only goal of the game..
“It’s something I’ve learned over the past year, to get much closer to the box. It helps the team scoring goals so I’m really happy with the assist from Dimi and the finish.
“I’m always happy to help the team with goals and assists. Everyone helped Dimi with his reaction, he kept going and did a brilliant assist for my goal.
“We made a few mistakes but that happens with our style because we want to play the ball well every time.”
The result puts City back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship for the time being – reacting to the news, Buendia said: “It’s good to be back top. With 17 games to go, we are in a good position. We have to keep going in the next few games.
