Loan Round-Up: McCallum part of Coventry side to beat Brentford

Norwich City loanee Sam McCallum was part of the Coventry City side to take three points off of Brentford last week.

The full-back played 90 minutes of Saturday’s 2-0 win at St. Andrew’s having been ineligible to play in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss to the Canaries.

There was a return to action for Akin Famewo, who made his first start for Charlton Athletic since December, playing all of the Addicks’ 1-1 draw at Fleetwood Town.

Lee Bowyer’s side are now ninth in League One.

In Switzerland, Timm Klose played 180 minutes across FC Basel’s double-header last week. They lost 6-2 at FC Winterthur in the Swiss Cup round of 16 on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Basel drew 0-0 and kept a clean sheet at home to FC Lausanne-Sport, despite Klose’s centre-back partner being sent off in the 20th minute.

There were more minutes for Josip Drmic at HNK Rijeka, as he came on in the 76th and 58th minute of Wednesday’s 0-0 draw at HNK Gorica and Sunday’s 2-0 loss away to NK Osijek respectively.

Rijeka remain fourth in the 1. HNL.

Philip Heise returned to the Karlsuher SC starting line-up for their 1-0 loss at home to 1. FC Nurnberg on Sunday. Karlsruher are now fifth in the 2. Bundesliga.

King’s Lynn Town lost 1-0 at home to Notts County on Tuesday night, Archie Mair playing the full 90 as the Linnets remained 21st in the National League.

Finally, Dan Adshead came on in the 68th minute of SC Telstar’s 2-1 loss at home to NAC Breda on Tuesday. Telstar are now ninth in the Eerste Divisie.
