Ben Gibson is "95 percent" unlikely to be involved in the squad for Tuesday's game at Birmingham City.
The centre-back was initially named on the bench for Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Rotherham United due to a minor back problem, but was subsequently replaced by Andrew Omobamidele with Christoph Zimmermann playing in the defence.
"It's not a major issue," Daniel Farke said in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon. "He's improved a bit but not good enough to have him in the squad. I'm 95 percent certain he won't be involved."
"Orjan Nyland is close to being back in full team training.
"For Marco Stiepermann, playing with the Under-23s was good and he handled nearly 70 minutes. We've decided to give him another week with the U23s.
"Sebastian Soto had some muscle problems and was out for a few days but is now back to training with the U23s."
Elsewhere, there were no new injury concerns to report, with Michael McGovern and Sam Byram still not available to feature.
