Loan Round-Up: Fitzpatrick nets for Queen of the South

Norwich City loanee Aidan Fitzpatrick got on the scoresheet for Queen of the South in their 2-1 win at home to Greenock Morton on Saturday.

Fitzpatrick dribbled through the defence before picking out the bottom right corner to make it one goal and two assists in two games.

Queen of the South are now seventh in the Scottish Championship.

In the National League, Archie Mair kept a clean sheet as King’s Lynn Town beat Eastleigh 1-0 in Hampshire on Tuesday.

Mair also saved a penalty against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, however the Linnets lost 3-2 to go 19th in the division.

Overseas, Philip Heise played 90 minutes of Karlsuher SC’s 1-1 draw at home to Heidenheim on Saturday, a result which saw the former go seventh in 2. Bundesliga, ten points off the top.

Dan Adshead played 67 minutes of SC Telstar’s 2-2 draw at home to Jong AZ on Friday, putting Telstar eighth in the Eerste Divisie.

There were mixed fortunes for City loanees in the Championship, Tom Trybull coming on in the 86th minute for Blackburn Rovers’ 1-0 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday and Sam McCallum featuring in Coventry City’s 3-0 defeat at Reading in midweek.

Rovers are now ninth in the second tier, while the Sky Blues sit 18th.

FC Basel were comfortably defeated on the weekend, Timm Klose playing in their 4-1 loss at home to FC Zurich. Basel are now fourth in the Swiss Super League.
