Przemyslaw Placheta says team spirit and togetherness will be the key to victory ahead of Norwich City’s Emirates FA Cup match at Barnsley on Saturday.
City are currently seven points clear at the top of the Championship table following three straight league victories, the first of which came against Barnsley in early January.
However, a trip to Oakwell in the fourth round of the FA Cup is no easy task. Barnsley have won four of their last five games on their own turf and were only beaten by a single goal when they travelled to Carrow Road earlier this month.
“We know that it will be a tough game,” said Placheta. “It is the FA Cup and it will be a different game than the one from the Championship, but for us it is important to go to the game and play with our style and play a better game than before.
“We have a good spirit in the team, with this togetherness that we have shown over the last few months.
“We know that Barnsley are a good team too, as we have played against them already in the Championship. We know how they like to play and they will be at home, so for us it will be important to have respect for them, for sure, but to play our style and to play our way. I think if we have this togetherness and 100 per cent from every player, from the first minute to the last minute, then we will be happy after the game.”
Placheta, who joined the club in the summer from Slask Wroclaw, is also happy with life at Norwich. He says his teammates have made him feel very welcome.
“The teammates are really good for me and for each player,” he said. “We are a good group and everyone pushes each other. It is a good spirit in this team. Everyone wants to help you and that is really important, I think. I feel really happy to be here and to play with all the players who are here. Hopefully it will stay like that.”
