A late call will be made on the availability of Tim Krul for tomorrow's game against Barnsley.
Daniel Farke confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Michael McGovern will be out for 12 to 16 weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.
"We won't take any risks, that's what I can promise," Farke said. "Tim is experienced enough that if he says he's ready, I will start him. If not, Daniel Barden will start and be absolutely fine."
In terms of outfield players, Przemyslaw Placheta is able to return to the squad but not the starting line-up against Barnsley.
Lukas Rupp and Marco Stiepermann are both scheduled to feature more prominently in training during the week prior to our FA Cup third round game against Coventry City and are expected to be included in the squad for that game.
As for the players with longer term injuries, Farke said the club will continue to give Sam Byram time to carry out his rehab.
"Bali Mumba and Onel Hernandez are ahead of Adam Idah," he added. "There's a chance in January they will be involved in training. With Adam, it will last perhaps two weeks longer but he's on a good way so more or less good news."
