International round-up: Teemu Pukki starts in historic Euro fixture for Finland

12 June 2021

Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki started for Finland in their historic first fixture in a major tournament on Saturday evening.

The Huuhkajat took a 1-0 win in their opening game against Denmark courtesy of Joel Pohjanpalo’s header in the 59th minute, giving them all three points to kick-off proceedings in Group B.

The City striker played for 76 minutes after the match was temporarily suspended due to Christian Eriksen’s medical emergency.

Finland now face Russia (Wednesday, June 16) and Belgium (Monday, June 21) in their remaining group stage fixtures of the tournament.
