Premier League stats
Bio: Jeremy Goss played 188 league games for Norwich City, scoring 18 goals but it was undoubtedly the early Premier League years where he was at his best.
He graduated from the youth team, after winning the FA Youth Cup in 1983, to make his first team debut in a 2-1 defeat away at Coventry City in May 1984. The following seasons saw him feature for the reserve team mostly, however he did make 26 appearances for the first team in the 1987/88 season and by the time the Premier League arrived in the summer of 1992 he had broken into the starting XI on a more regular basis.
He played 25 times in the Premier League in the 1992/93 season as Norwich City went close to winning the title, but it was the 1993/94 season where he really shone. He netted in both legs of the UEFA Cup tie with Bayern Munich, including a stunning volley in the Olympic Stadium which will never be forgotten, and also scored in the third-round tie against eventual winners Inter Milan. In the Premier League that season he played 34 times, netting six goals.
Without doubt Jeremy Goss’ most memorable moment in a Norwich City shirt came in the famous win over Bayern Munich.
However, in the Premier League he also scored a stunning volley away at Elland Road in August 1993. Timing his run perfectly to latch onto a Ruel Fox cross, he smashed an unstoppable volley past John Lukic in the Leeds United goal that drew applause from the home fans behind the goal. He is also famed for scoring the final goal in front of the standing Kop at Liverpool in 1-0 victory at Anfield in the penultimate game of that campaign.
