Loan Round-Up: Back-to-back clean sheets for Famewo and Heise

Norwich City loanee Akin Famewo played 180 minutes and kept consecutive clean sheets across last week’s fixtures for Charlton Athletic.

The Addicks won 1-0 away to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday before drawing 0-0 against Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

Having beaten SV Darmstadt 98 1-0 the week prior, Philip Heise and Karlsruher SC also made it two clean sheets in two games with Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to FC St. Pauli.

Karlsruher are fifth in the 2. Bundesliga.

Tom Trybull played the majority of Blackburn Rovers’ double header last week as they lost 1-0 at Reading before beating Millwall 2-0 at The Den.

15th in the Championship, this week Tony Mowbray’s side face two of Norwich City’s promotion rivals - Swansea City and Brentford.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Sam McCallum played all of Coventry City’s 2-1 loss at home to Middlesbrough on Tuesday as well as the Sky Blues’ 1-0 win at home to Derby County.

In Europe, Rocky Bushiri came on in the 78th minute of KAS Eupen’s 1-0 win at home to Gent in the Belgian Cup on Wednesday to advance to the competition’s semi-finals.

The centre-back then played 73 minutes of Saturday’s 3-3 draw at home to Oud-Heverlee Leuven, which put Eupen 13th in the Belgian Pro League.

Isak Thorvaldsson played the first 64 minutes of IA Akranes’ 4-1 win on Friday at home to Vestri. The win keeps Akranes third in Group C of the Deildabikar.

Returning from injury, Aidan Fitzpatrick came on in the 56th minute of Queen of the South’s 4-2 win away to Arbroath on Saturday to go fourth in the Scottish Championship.

It was a week to forget for FC Basel, who drew 1-1 at home to Young Boys and lost 2-1 away to Servette to go down to third in the Swiss Super League, Timm Klose playing the full duration of both matches.

King’s Lynn Town had a memorable 2-2 draw away to Notts County, the Linnets scoring in the first and 93rd minute as Archie Mair was between the sticks. They then lost 3-0 at Woking, however, putting them 21st in the National League.

Dan Adshead played the first 67 minutes of SC Telstar’s 3-1 defeat at SC Cambuur on Friday. Telstar are now ninth in the Eerste Divisie.

There were two cameo appearances for Tyrese Omotoye, who came on in the 73rd minute of Swindon Town’s 1-0 loss at Sunderland and in the 64th minute of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to Accrington Stanley. The Robins are 20th in League One.

Josip Drmic also came off the bench for HNK Rijeka, who lost 2-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb on Sunday to go fifth in the 1. HNL.
