Onel Hernandez made his long-awaited debut for Cuba last night in their first game of 2022 World Cup qualifying.
The debut has been almost two years in the making after his first call-up to the squad in November 2018 was rescinded.
Hernandez was introduced at half-time in Cuba's 1-0 defeat to Guatemala in the opening game of their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Elsewhere last night, Sebastian Soto started and played an hour of USA Under-23s 1-0 defeat to Mexico in Olympic Games qualification.
The defeat means USA finished second in their qualifying group ahead of the semi-finals in the early hours of Monday morning.
