Daniel Farke said the togetherness and team spirit within the group was the key ingredient behind the championship winning season.
The Canaries secured the title with a 4-1 win over Reading at Carrow Road, a victory that took the team to 96 points – the club’s best ever points total in a season.
Asked what made this team so special, Farke said: “The spirit and togetherness. It is unbelievable. I have worked in many dressing rooms as a player and also as a coach, and sometimes in really good dressing rooms, but the spirit within the group is unbelievable and there is such a camaraderie.
“There are some competitors for positions, but you get the feeling that they are all on the same page. They want to represent this yellow shirt and this really special and unique club and what we have done. Sadly, today without our supporters at Carrow Road, but they were in our hearts and our thoughts and together with us. We hope that we did everyone proud who supports this club. It was quite important to do this especially during these strange times.”
Speaking about the performance against Reading, which saw Norwich fall behind before storming to victory with goals from Kieran Dowell (2), Xavi Quintilla and Teemu Pukki, Farke added: “They (Reading) are a top side, and we were perhaps a little bit nervous. We were not that serious against the ball in the beginning, but we fought ourselves into the game in the end and it was a well-deserved win and a clear win with us scoring four fantastic goals. We had a few more chances anyhow, but everybody is buzzing right now. We won the title, and the lads deserve to crown themselves and to celebrate and we are all pretty proud.
“It is an unbelievable day. You can feel it means the world to the lads to represent this yellow shirt and today it is just a night to be proud and to celebrate and also to enjoy ourselves. This is my message to our supporters. Try, of course disciplined within the rules, to enjoy yourselves.”
