Norwich City proud to be named top Premier League club for fan engagement

12 May 2021

Norwich City are proud to have been named the top Premier League club for fan engagement by a new report.

The study, published by Think Fan Engagement, has ranked all 92 Premier League and EFL clubs for the 2019/20 season based on the relationship it had with its supporters in three areas: governance, transparency and dialogue.

Norwich City scored 140 points, out of a total of 240, which placed us 10th in the overall table – 10 points ahead of the nearest Premier League team Leicester in 11th, with Championship side Reading and a host of League One and League Two clubs making up the top 10.

Ben Kensell, chief operating officer at Norwich City, said: “We are delighted that the club has been recognised as one of the top performing clubs in terms of how we engage with our supporters.

“We are proud of our ownership model. We know the importance of putting fans at the heart of every decision we make and having transparency in our governance and activities.

“We continue to strive to improve and innovate in this area and that is why we are pleased to have introduced a new Official Supporters Panel, which we hope will give an open and fair dialogue for fans with our executive committee and senior leadership team.

“It has, of course, been a difficult 14 months for football supporters up and down the country with the majority of them having not seen a live match during that time because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“At Carrow Road we were pleased to be part of pilot fixtures looking at the safe return of fans to stadiums last September and we were delighted to welcome our supporters back through the turnstiles for a few matches in December.

“However, it goes without saying, that the fans’ presence inside Carrow Road has been sorely missed and while we are thrilled with the way our first team players and staff have managed to interact with our supporters through many virtual and community-based projects, we are very much looking forward to welcoming fans back to Carrow Road at the start of next season.”
