Delia Smith
Joint Majority Shareholder

Delia Smith    

Delia Smith is Norwich City's joint majority shareholder, alongside her husband, Michael Wynn Jones.

Delia made her name as a cookery writer, author and television personality, and joined the Board of the Canaries in 1996. Her influence not only helped stabilise the then precarious financial predicament the Club found itself in, but also to develop off-field revenue streams, such as Canary Catering, to help the finances further.

A long-time Norwich City supporter before her official involvement with the Club, Delia attends most of City's matches - home and away throughout the season.

Michael Wynn Jones
Joint Majority Shareholder

Michael Wynn Jones

Michael Wynn Jones is Norwich City's joint majority shareholder, alongside his wife, Delia Smith. 

Michael made his name through publishing with his former company, New Crane Publishing Ltd. This produced the Sainsbury’s Magazine, among others.

Also a long-time Norwich City fan, Michael rarely misses a match and is hugely passionate about the Canaries.

Ed Balls
Club Chairman

Ed Balls

Former Cabinet Minister and lifelong Canaries fan Ed Balls was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors in December 2015.

Born in the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and educated in Bawburgh, Nottingham, and then at Oxford University and the Harvard Kennedy School, Mr Balls left the Financial Times in 1994 to pursue a career in government.

A Labour MP for 10 years after 2005, he held a variety of senior positions during his political career, including Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Shadow Home Secretary and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Mr Balls is currently a Senior Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and a Visiting Professor at King's College, London. He undertakes his role at Norwich City in an unpaid capacity, alongside his ongoing academic, commercial, charitable and media activities.

Michael Foulger
Deputy Club Chairman

Michael Foulger

Michael Foulger is Managing director of Attleborough-based Banham Poultry a family-owned firm which supplies chilled fresh chicken to butchers and food retailers throughout the UK.

He has also been a Board member for more than 20 years after joining as a Director in 1996 with Delia and Michael.

A lifelong Canaries fan, his vital financial support in the summer of 2009 paved the way for the pivotal signing of striker Grant Holt.

Thomas Smith

Thomas Smith

Lifelong Canary fan Thomas Smith, who joined the Board at Norwich City in January 2016, watched his first Norwich match at the old Den in 1989, having been taken to the game by his aunt and uncle, joint majority shareholders Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones.

Tom spent over a decade in the Civil Service in the UK and abroad, working in a variety of roles at the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Office and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. After returning to the UK in late 2014, Tom left the public sector to start his own photographic business.

He is a passionate supporter and Trustee of City’s Community Sports Foundation.

Tom is the Club’s Board member, leading on Equality and Anti-discrimination and is the Board’s nominated Equality Champion.

Stephan Phillips

Stephan Phillips

Stephan Phillips is the former Managing Director of Archant Norfolk, having retired in 2011 after working for Archant, the UK's largest independent regional publisher, for 21 years. He is also a non-executive director of local companies Snellings Ltd and SBS Ltd.
Prior to working at Archant he worked for the Thomson Corporation, CWS and Sainsbury's.

Stephan graduated from Nottingham Trent University and was awarded a Master of Science degree in marketing by the University of Glamorgan.

A keen fan of Norwich City Football Club for many years, before joining the Board he was a member of the Associate Directors' Group.

Steve Stone
Managing Director

Steve was appointed as Managing Director in March 2017, having previously worked as the Club's Director of Finance while also serving as interim Chief Executive on two occasions.

First joining Norwich City in 2015, Steve previously held financial roles at Spirit Pub Company and Gala Bingo from 2005 onwards and is responsible for leading the business side of the Club.

Stuart Webber
Sporting Director

Stuart Webber joined Norwich City to take the newly-created post of Sporting Director in April 2017 as part of a restructuring process at the Club. He moved to Carrow Road from Huddersfield Town, where he had held the position of Head of Football Operations since 2015.

Prior to joining the Terriers, Webber spent two years as Head of Recruitment at Wolverhampton Wanderers following previous stints at Queens Park Rangers, Liverpool and Wrexham.

He leads all aspects of the Club's recruitment strategy, working with the Head Coach to identify players with the commitment and hunger to improve performances on the pitch.

Daniel Farke
Head Coach

Daniel Farke was appointed as Head Coach of Norwich City in the summer of 2017.

The 40-year-old joined the Club from Borussia Dortmund II on a two-year deal, having led the German giants’ reserve team to a second-place finish in the Regionalliga West in 2016-17.

Regarded as one of the most highly-rated young coaches in Germany, Farke had previously spent six years with SV Lippstadt 08.

Edmund Riemer
Assistant Head Coach

Edmund Riemer   

Edmund Riemer moved to Carrow Road ahead of the 2017-18 season to take on the role of Assistant Head Coach.

Previously working with Daniel Farke at Borussia Dortmund II and SV Lippstadt 08, the 32-year-old represented the likes of Paderborn during his playing days.

Ben Kensell
Director of Commercial

Ben Kensell

Ben is responsible for leading the commercial revenue generating areas of the Club, including Sponsorship, Ticketing, Advertising Sales, Retail, Lotteries, Hospitality and Special Events.

Prior to joining Norwich City as Director of Commercial, Ben was the Chief Commercial Officer at Charlton Athletic for 2 years having joined from Arsenal where he spent 8 years at The Emirates Stadium in a similar commercial capacity.

Ben Dack
Director of Finance and Company Secretary

Ben Dack

Ben is responsible for all of the Club’s finances, including cash flow management, financial performance, tax and regulatory compliance.

On completion of his Economics Degree at the University of East Anglia, Ben started his career qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at local accountancy firm Larking Gowen before moving to a variety of SMEs.

Andrew Macdonald
Director of Legal, HR and Compliance

Andrew Macdonald

Andrew is the Club’s in-house lawyer. With a private practice background as an employment sports lawyer, Andrew is involved in all player contracts and transfers. He’s also responsible for drafting commercial contracts (including key sponsorship deals), protecting the Club’s brand / trademarks and ensuring compliance with all relevant FA and Premier / Football League Regulations. Andrew also assumes overall responsibility for HR within the Club and is our Senior Manager leading on Equality, Inclusion and anti-discrimination.

Prior to joining the Club, Andrew worked at a leading national law firm, where he advised Angel Di Maria on his then British record transfer to Manchester United and Jonas Gutierrez in his successful disability discrimination claim against Newcastle United.

Zoe Ward 
Director of Football Administration


Zoe manages the Club’s Football Administration function which includes Club Secretarial, Player Liaison, First Team and Academy Operations.

Zoe brings a wealth of experience in player, club and agent negotiation throughout all age groups and works closely with the football departments on the delivery of player transfers, contracts and registrations.

Zoe has worked in the football industry for many years including spells at the Surrey County Football Association, the Premier League, Fulham Football Club, McCormicks Solicitors and Liverpool Football Club.

Joe Ferrari
Director of Communications

Joe Ferrari

Joe manages relations between NCFC and all local, regional and national print and broadcast media, as well as overseeing media access to NCFC playing and non-playing staff. He also oversees all editorial and marketing content produced for the Club’s official print and digital channels.

Joe also advises senior managers/NCFC Board members on public relations issues and works with senior managers on all external and internal communications.

Prior to joining the Club in 2001, Joe was Editor of the Pink ‘Un in Norwich, having previously held senior roles at local newspapers in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire.

Jon Leggett
Director of Operations

Jon Leggett

Jon leads the various aspects of the Operations department and, as such, is responsible for the facilities, pitches, safety and security at all sites. He also leads all building and refurbishment projects at the Club.

Jon joined the operations team in 2014 after having joined the Club previously as the Finance department’s Management Accountant. Previous to that Jon worked in various finance roles at Aviva and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Stuart Cox
Director of Catering

Stuart Cox

Stuart leads all aspects of Delia’s Canary Catering at Carrow Road and is responsible for conference & events, match day catering, the front of house team, the kitchen teams, the kiosks and warehouse teams, catering recruitment, Yellows Bar & Grill and Delia’s Restaurant & Bar.

Stuart’s passion for catering spans back to the age of 14 where he worked within kitchens at a large function venue in the West Midlands. He progressed through college with a distinction in Catering & Hospitality Management and completed an apprenticeship in the Hotel & Catering industry before he was 20. He has worked in Europe and has a vast knowledge of many sectors within the industry.
