ALEX Neil was left considering what might have been after his team were forced to settle for a point following their 0-0 draw with Brentford on New Year's Eve.

The Canaries had Robbie Brady sent off late in the second half but should have been ahead after Cameron Jerome and substitute Jacob Murphy missed good opportunities for Neil's side at Griffin Park.

He told Norwich City TV afterwards: "I think my overriding emotion after the game is disappointment because I thought we more than merited the three points.

"We had the clearest chances in the game by far, and I thought we dominated the match from start to finish.

"For this game, the system we chose was the right way to go and I don't think there's any question that we deserved to win.

"Regardless of what other people might say, the players certainly aren't giving up. They're trying and I thought tonight was a prime example of that."

Brady was dismissed following a 50-50 challenge with Bees midfielder Ryan Woods, and Neil says he will consider appealing what he felt was an unjust decision.

He explained: "My only worry is how successful normally are when it's a challenge, but the angle the bodies are going at I don't know what else Robbie can do apart from go in.

"He's put his foot in low to try and win the ball, and at no time does he hurt the lad at all as you can tell by his reaction.

"We're actually questioning whether it was a foul, so you can't be questioning whether it was a foul and it actually be a red card. It doesn't make any sense."
