ALEX Tettey is under no illusions as to the magnitude of Norwich City's upcoming clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Canaries go into the game six points behind sixth-placed Wednesday, with the Owls holding the final play-off spot as the season moves towards its conclusion.

Such context leaves Alex Neil's side with little margin for error at Hillsborough, and Tettey told the media on Friday afternoon: "It's going to be a big game and hopefully things go our way.

"We want to perform and get the three points. It's up to us to get back on track because we've let ourselves down when we've needed to catch teams.

"It's going to be a test, mentally as well, because it's not going to be an easy game. We'll need to be at it from the beginning as they aren't going to roll over.

"They're a good team who were in the play-offs last season and they want to be there again so we know what we're facing. We've worked hard and hopefully it will work for us."

Tettey, who confirmed his retirement from international football on Friday having represented Norway since 2007, refuses to give up on his promotion aspirations for this season.

"Last time I think we were already in the top six and really pushing for the automatic spots," he explained.

"This time we're chasing the top six, so it's different. In terms of us still having a chance to make it though, it's the same.

"We're facing ending the season in eighth or ninth, and that's not what we had in mind at the start of the season. With 12 games left we still have every chance of making it."
