NORWICH City staged an incredible comeback to beat Cardiff City 4-2 in south Wales.

Joe Ralls and Aron Gunnarsson gave the hosts a deserved two-goal lead at the break, but City came out a different side after half-time and got the ball rolling through Martin Olsson's goal.

Wes Hoolahan's emphatic finish levelled proceedings before Michael Turner got the supporters on their feet by bundling his team ahead on 71 minutes.

The shellshocked Bluebirds tried to find a way back into the game but the Canaries finished them off when the impactful Cameron Jerome netted in the closing stages.

The manner of the result and second half performance provides a huge boost for Neil Adams' side ahead of the packed fixture schedule over the next three weeks.

Adams gave a full debut to deadline day signing Jos Hooiveld, while Olsson stepped in after missing the Bournemouth draw. Steven Whittaker and Javier Garrido dropped to the substitutes' bench, where they were joined by Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe for the first time since his move from Club Bruges.

Anthony Pilkington started for Cardiff after his switch from City in the summer, while fellow ex-Canary David Marshall was in goal and Tom Adeyemi took his place on the bench.

The hosts went close in the first minute as City only just managed to deal with a Peter Whittingham corner by clearing it off the line, but three minutes later they had taken the lead.

Ralls showed skill and composure on the edge of the box to set himself and find the corner of Ruddy's goal with a sweet left-footed strike.

Cardiff were sharper to every ball and it until the 18th minute for Norwich to create their first meaningful opportunity as Wes Hoolahan spun a shot wide from Nathan Redmond's pass.

Kyle Lafferty then tested Marshall with a powerful drive but on 23 minutes, the hosts doubled their lead up the other end.

The effective Kenwyne Jones held the ball up and slid a pass into the path of Pilkington, whose reverse ball was dispatched by Gunnarsson.

City improved towards the end of the half but Bradley Johnson's wayward effort from range was the closest they came to a leveller before the break.

HALF-TIME: Cardiff City 2-0 Norwich City

John Ruddy made a smart stop to keep out Federico Macheda's volley two minutes into the second half, but City soon got on top and they pulled one back on 54 minutes.

Hoolahan chipped a fine pass into the Grabban, and while the striker was wrestling with his marker the ball fell kindly for Olsson, who powered the loose ball beyond Marshall.

Five minutes later and the Canaries were level - Redmond's cross found substitute Cameron Jerome rising at the back post.

His header was saved magnificently by Marshall, but Hoolahan pounced on the rebound to score and level the game.

City's continued on the ascendency and incredibly completed the turnaround on 71 minutes.

Martin played a pass in the box to Alex Tettey, who flicked the ball on the turn and pushed it across goal, where Turner was waiting to bundle it in.

Whittingham had two attempts for Cardiff - the first palmed away by Ruddy, the second a curling free-kick that flew just wide of the post, but the Canaries wrapped up the points with three minutes left.

Cardiff old boy Jerome was played through by Martin, and he rounded David Marshall and slotted the ball into the empty net, completing a sensational second half.
