Community Sports Foundation treated to special Cinderella performance at Theatre Royal

On Thursday night, around 60 participants from the Community Sports Foundation’s disability programmes and their families attended a special ‘relaxed performance’ of the Theatre Royal’s pantomime ‘Cinderella’.

The youngsters, including members of the Foundation’s disability dance troupe, the powerchair football team, and the down’s syndrome squad, joined CSF staff for a memorable evening in the company of Cinders, The Fairy Godmother, Buttons and Prince Charming.

Norwich City Football Club and the Theatre Royal launched a partnership in September with a pledge to work even more closely for the benefit of the community.

The club was the official partner of the pantomime and those in attendance on Thursday were thoroughly entertained by the adapted performance, which included visual support on iPads to help the youngsters follow the storyline.

Vanessa Hagg, a parent of one of the Foundation’s Powerchair Football team said: “Big thanks for organising this, we all had an amazing time and a really good laugh!”

Similarly, Jamie Tyson, whose son takes part in disability multi-sport sessions added: “We had a great evening, thank you so much! All the preparation was great, with the warnings of the bangs and the storyline."

After the show, the cast took time to have photos and a chat with the groups and their families.
