Daniel Farke praises Kenny McLean’s ability

Daniel Farke is looking forward to working with Kenny McLean after the midfielder joined the Canaries from Aberdeen on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

McLean will return to the Dons for the remainder of the season but Farke says the Scotland international will strengthen the Norwich squad when he arrives in the summer.

“Kenny is a player who is really flexible,” Farke told

"He can play nearly each and every position in midfield – as a number ten, a number eight, a number six or as a winger who comes inside.

"He gives us various options, and is full of technical ability. He had a high passing quality and is able to score and assist."

McLean brings plenty of experience, with 262 appearances and 34 goals to his name in the Scottish top-flight already.

"At 26, he is a good age but still wants to improve," City's boss explained.

"Physically, he's in a good condition. He has many strengths and is a player we really like.

"We’re looking forward to him strengthening our squad in the summer, and I’m looking forward to working with him."

The Scotland international is City’s second signing of the winter, following Marcus Edwards’ arrival on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

"We are looking to strengthen this month," added Farke, when outlining his future plans for the January transfer window.

"We want to bring in players for now. We are hoping for further additions and to make our squad bigger before the end of the month."
