Daniel Farke: We prepare the players for different scenarios

AFC Bournemouth's flexibility under former assistant manager Jason Tindall has seen them play a variety of formations since the start of pre-season.

Since taking over from Eddie Howe, Tindall has experimented with three, four and five at the back dependant on the challenge presented.

That type of versatility makes Sunday's game at Vitality Stadium an intriguing prospect for Norwich City, as the two former Premier League sides go head to head in one of the Championship's biggest games of the weekend.

"Bournemouth have lost some top players, so I'm full of compliments to handle that situation," Daniel Farke said, discussing the Cherries in his pre-match press conference on Friday. "They had a proper performance [on Thursday] against Man City.

"The players who are still involved in their lineup mean they're one of the big favourites of winning the league. We're also confident and brave, but Bournemouth as a club are a bit ahead of us.

"I'm quite respectful for how they've handled it so far. Bournemouth away will be a tough task, but we're not scared. We want a good performance and a good result."

Sections of the Bournemouth fanbase may have felt underwhelmed by the appointment of someone already inside the club following Howe's departure, but four points from two games have backed up Farke's suggestion that consistency is key.

"It's a sign of consistency with the club that they knew how to handle Eddie leaving," he said. "They don't want to change everything. They have a great chance to bounce back.

"The differences between assistant coach and head coach is a big difference, so when someone like Eddie leaves the club, it's never easy to follow such a big personality, so big compliments to Jason.

"You never know which approach Bournemouth will choose, but they are capable of intense pressing. They seem to play, not more flexible, but they've changed their base formation a bit more during the games. It's important to prepare the players for different scenarios."
