Club Canary coaches depart from outside Carrow Road at 11.45am on the day of the game, but for supporters making their own way to the Stadium of Light here’s our brief travel guide.

Tickets
Norwich supporters can no longer pay on the night at the Stadium of Light.

Any duplicates or collections can be collected from the Ticket Office from 6pm onwards.

By train
Sunderland’s train station is a 10 to 15-minute walk from the stadium and has excellent links to the national rail network and local Metro system.

When using the Tyne and Wear Metro service to travel to the match, fans have the choice of arriving at either St. Peter’s or the Stadium of Light Metro stations prior to the game.

When leaving the stadium after the match, supporters travelling southbound towards South Hylton (and Sunderland train station) must board at St. Peter’s. Supporters heading northbound towards Newcastle must board at the Stadium of Light station.

By car

Parking in the immediate area is very limited. A permit parking scheme applies in some areas and Police parking restrictions will be in place around the stadium with fixed penalty tickets being issued.

Fans are advised to use car parks at St. Mary’s (SR1 3AH), Sunniside (SR1 1UL) and The Bridges (SR1 3PZ) as all are just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the stadium. Parking charges apply.

Alternatively, supporters can take advantage of SAFC’s ‘Park and Ride’ or ‘Park and Walk’ schemes. The Park and Ride scheme runs from the Sunderland Enterprise Park on Wessington Way (A1231), which is easily accessible from the A19 and is clearly signposted ‘Park and Ride’ (SR5 3XG).

Food and drink
Several away friendly pubs have been suggested by footballgroundguide.com. These include The Sunderland Companions Club and the New Democratic Club, both on the corner of North Bridge Street. The Harbour View on the seafront is a popular venue, while the William Jameson in the city centre is a popular Wetherspoon. As these pubs have been suggested by a third party website, please use your own discretion if you are thinking of visiting these establishments.

The FanZone at the South-East corner of the stadium also welcomes both home and away fans.
