The Canaries suffered disappointment at the weekend after defeat at home to Sunderland but bounced back in terrific fashion on Wednesday night after goals from Nelson Oliveira and Harrison Reed.

Speaking to the media after the triumph, Farke said: “Today was not so easy because we had to make a lot of changes and to be honest I prefer not to make so many changes in the beginning of the season.

“After the game against Sunderland, it was important to bring this result to the table and we did. It was not so easy because QPR came here with a lot of confidence. They’ve had a brilliant start.

“We had this bad experience against Sunderland and it was not so easy to play this game. But we defended very well today and we were very good in our finishing so I’m delighted to win this game.”

“We did without a lot of experienced players and I was a little concerned that they were perhaps a little too nervous. From minute-to-minute, we got better and I think in the end we deserved to win.”

Farke was particularly pleased for man-of-the-match Reed, whose second-half strike sealed the points.

“It was his first goal in the senior squad,” he added. “I’ve never seen him score in training but it was a really brilliant goal.

“He has self-confidence and he always tries to shoot in training but it’s normally like a goal-kick!

“He had such a good performance today and deserved to score such a brilliant goal. It was very important for us.”
