3. Bournemouth (A)

An away from home clean sheet is always a great achievement, whether it be for a singular point or three. Our first of these came at the Vitality Stadium back in October earlier this season, as we drew 0-0 with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

Standing his ground alone in a 4-1-4-1 formation, this gave Tettey more responsibility in the defensive midfield position, as opposed to the familiar two defensive midfielders he has been used to nearly all season. But, after nearly eight years of doing it in the yellow and green, this was no big ask for the Norwegian.

Dropping in deep when required, or able to bring the press forward with the rest of the attack, Tettey was instrumental in keeping the shape of both fronts.

Not only that, but the midfielder was crucial in playing his role of stopping attacks reaching the back four, laying in tackles, interceptions and blocks to avert the danger.

This game was absolutely textbook Tettey, for that earning him a 7.13 rating from Whoscored.com, his third-best game this season.

2. Sheffield United (H)

Donning the captain’s armband, Tettey led the Canaries out for this clash against Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United. It wasn’t a result any City fan would want to see, especially since it was the Canaries who were on top for so long.

This was a game that had all the dramas, a red card turned yellow from VAR, Sheffield United coming from behind to win and a beautiful goal from Tettey.

A corner, which was found by the head of the midfielder, was then knocked down by Christoph Zimmermann, who saw it fall into the path of the Norwegian. Letting it fly, Tettey was sure to rip the netting off as he caught it on the volley inside the box.

It may have been a result going against City, but that wonderful goal coinciding with a standard benchmark Tettey performance saw the man earn a 7.49 rating from Whoscored.com.

1. Southampton (A)

Although only making a feature for half the match, this game was perfect in showing off the capabilities of Tettey and what he has in the locker.

Coming on shortly after half-time, Tettey made his impact as early as the 65th minute. Shooting a through ball from the Southampton’s side of the halfway line, all the way through every line of Southampton defence to Teemu Pukki, Tettey bagged a superb assist to help find a much-needed goal.

Not being given the full 90 minutes to show what could do, Tettey wasn’t fazed, opting to play as well as he could as a great substitution for the remaining 45 minutes, dropping into his defensive midfield role with ease.

Despite the result again going against City, Whoscored.com rated this as Tettey’s best game, giving him a 7.51 rating for the high-intensity 45 minutes he clocked for the Canaries.
