The Tigers have endured a season of struggle after dropping out of the top-flight last term, with avoiding a second successive relegation now top of their agenda.

Nigel Adkins was appointed at Hull City last December, replacing previous boss Leonid Slutsky.

The 52-year-old returned to the dugout after a break of 18 months, having left former club Sheffield United in May 2016.

Starting out as Bangor City player-manager between 1993 and 1996, Adkins undertook a hiatus of sorts by studying for a physiotherapy degree at the University of Salford.

That knowledge saw him become part of Scunthorpe United's medical team, later taking on the role of manager and guiding The Iron to promotion from League One.

A successful three-year spell at Southampton followed, with the former goalkeeper going on to manage at Reading before linking up with Sheffield United in the summer of 2015.

Hull fell to their first home league defeat since late November on Tuesday when they were beaten 2-1 by Millwall at the KCOM Stadium.

First half goals from George Saville and Jake Cooper gave the Lions all three points, with Abel Hernandez's late strike for the hosts serving only as a consolation.

Having avoided defeat on their own turf for over three months, Nigel Adkins' men will be desperate to avoid a repeat when the Canaries visit.

The Tigers' home form has proven crucial to their hopes of Sky Bet Championship survival, with 22 of their 33 points having come on their own turf.

Previous Meeting
A last-gasp strike from Nelson Oliveira rescued Norwich City a dramatic point when they hosted Hull City at Carrow Road earlier this season.

The Canaries had trailed to Nouha Dicko's first half goal, but David Meyler's red card before the hour-mark for Hull alowed them to get a grip on the game.

It still took until the sixth minute of injury-time for Daniel Farke's side to salvage a 1-1 draw however, with Oliveira in the right place to convert Cameron Jerome's flick-on.

City's last trip to the KCOM Stadium came in August 2013 when the two teams were in the Premier League, Hull securing a 1-0 win courtesy of Robbie Brady's penalty
