CITY'S senior players completed their first World Cup Qualifying games of this international weekend.

Striker Johan Elmander scored in Sweden's 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in Dublin. His fellow City and Swedish team-mate Martin Olsson also featured playing the full match at the Aviva Stadium.

Anthony Pilkington made his Ireland debut coming on for James McClean in the 74th minute, while Wes Hoolahan was an unused substitute in the match.

Ireland now travel to Austria and Sweden to Kazakhstan on Tuesday for their next Group C qualifying games.

Winger Robert Snodgrass played 58 minutes and defenders Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker the full match in Scotland's 2-0 defeat to Belgium at Hampden Park. The Scots now face Macedonia away in Group A on Tuesday.

City's John Ruddy and Ricky van Wolfswinkel were unused substitutes in England's 4-0 win against Moldova and the Netherlands' 2-2 draw with Estonia respectively.

Roy Hodgson's side now travel to Ukraine for another qualifying fixture on Tuesday September 10, the Dutch squad to Andorra.

Nathan Redmond played a lively role for England Under-21s on Thursday as they secured a successful start to their qualification campaign for the 2015 European Championship in the Czech Republic, with a 1-0 defeat of Moldova at the Madejiski Stadium in Reading.

Redmond played 75 minutes for Gareth Southgate’s side before being replaced by Sammy Ameobi with England having taken the lead on 13 minutes courtesy of a strike by Saido Berahino.

In Under-19 action, City’s Carlton Morris made an instant impact as a second-half substitute scoring England’s 4th in a 6-1 friendly win over Estonia in Tallinn.

Canaries defender Harry Toffolo and winger Josh Murphy both started the match and helped England to a commanding lead before being substituted in the 58th minute.

Elsewhere, City defender Kyle McFadden played 53 minutes in a 2-0 win for Ireland’s U19s over Slovenia in a friendly in Dublin.

City youth player Cameron McGeehan is part of the Northern Ireland U19 squad for next week’s friendly against Austria; while academy teammate Cameron King has been called-up up to Scotland’s U19s for Tuesday’s fixture against Iceland.
