A look ahead to Sunday's crucial encounter

Barclays Premier League
12.00 kick-off
Carrow Road
Sunday, April 20, 2014

SUNDAY’s meeting with Liverpool doesn’t need any introduction with regards to the importance for both sides.

While a win for the Canaries will keep them out of the relegation places in the Premier League, at the other end of table Liverpool are chasing a first title in 24 years.

Both sides will know how their closest opposition will have fared after Saturday’s rounds of fixtures, if there was anything else that could fire up the teams for this one.

Neil Adams takes charge of his first home game as Norwich City manager, yet he will hope come Sunday night, he will be remembering it for not solely that personal achievement.

LAST TIME AROUND… Liverpool 5-1 Norwich City, December 4 2013 – Premier League…

Luis Suarez produced a virtuoso performance to score four goals and inspire Liverpool to a 5-1 victory at Anfield at the beginning of December.

The Uruguayan’s dipping volley from 40 yards set the tone for a dominant night for the hosts, with City’s only goal coming in consolation form through Bradley Johnson late in the second half.

The result left the Canaries in 16th place in the Premier League on 14 points from 14 games, four clear of the relegation places.

Chris Hughton said afterwards: “He’s (Suarez) a world-class player, and if I look at the first goal he scored – there aren’t many players in the world who could have scored that.

“If you give him the time and space to allow him to perform, then you make life incredibly difficult for yourselves.

“We started ok but their first two goals were their first chances. The disappointing thing for me was in the manner that we conceded the goals.”
