The latest from City's loan exports

ROTHERHAM United were relegated from the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday after a 1-0 home defeat to Fulham.

Carlton Morris played the first hour for the Millers, being withdrawn four minutes before Sone Aluko's close-range effort consigned United to Sky Bet League One.

One team trying to get out of that division are Scunthorpe United, but their promotion bid continued to falter with a 3-1 weekend reverse at Millwall.

Shaun Williams' first half penalty was followed up by further goals from Shane Ferguson and Aiden O'Brien in the second period to leave the hosts firmly in control.

Matt Crooks netted a late consolation for Scunthorpe, with Harry Toffolo an unused substitute as The Iron dropped to fifth in the table.

Elsewhere in the division, Declan Rudd started in goal as Charlton Athletic lost 2-0 away to Peterborough United.

Goals in the latter stages from Martin Samuelson and Marcus Maddison settled the contest, leaving Charlton in 16th as the season moves closer to its conclusion.

Over the border, fellow goalkeeper Remi Matthews also completed 90 minutes as Hamilton Academical picked up an unusual, yet vital, 1-0 home win over St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

With the match goalless at the interval, the away side saw Danny Swanson and Richard Foster both dismissed following the half-time whistle being blown after an on-field altercation.

Set to play against nine men for the remaining 45 minutes, Accies needed just about all of them to take advantage; Alex D'Acol netting in the 89th to boost their survival hopes.

A tier further down, Tony Andreu's Dundee United fell to a 4-2 defeat at Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship.

The home side twice led through Derek Lyle and Stephen Dobbie, only for United's Thomas Mikkelsen to cancel out those goals on each occasion.

There would be no response, however, to strikes in the final ten minutes from Lyndon Dykes and Dale Hinson as The Doonhammers closed out victory.

Andreu played the full match for United, who remain in fourth with the single automatic promotion spot looking set to be taken by leaders Hibernian.
