The defender played the full game for the Millers, as Rotherham beat Alex Neil’s Preston North End 2-1 thanks to goals from Will Vaulks and Michael Smith.

James Husband returned to Fleetwood Town’s starting line-up on New Year’s Day after missing the Fishermen’s games against Burton Albion, Bristol Rovers, Doncaster Rovers and Portsmouth in December.

The full-back replaced Ross Wallace at left-back, with Husband playing for the full 90 minutes for Joey Barton’s Fleetwood side as they moved up to 11^th in the table.

Matt Jarvis signed for Walsall on New Year’s Day, so was ineligible for their game against Charlton Athletic which they lost 2-1, with striker Andy Cook scoring Walsall’s only goal.

Caleb Richards started for FC United of Manchester in the National League North on Tuesday. His side lost 4-0 with goals coming from Elliot Newby and Josh O’Keefe who both scored a brace for Chorley.

Billericay Town lost 1-0 at home against Chelmsford City on Tuesday with the only goal of the game scored by Rhys Murphy in the 74^th minute.

Devonte Aransibia was brought on with 10 minutes to go to try and help Billericay rescue a point; however the home side were unable to find an equaliser.

Marcel Franke and Steven Naismith weren’t in action on New Year’s Day, with their respective league’s now on a winter break and don’t return to action until the end of January.
