LOUIS Ramsay was quick to share the credit after his stunning goal helped Norwich City Under-18s book their FA Youth Cup quarter-final place with victory over Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening.
The Academy defender slammed home a superb volley with just three minutes of normal time remaining to draw his side level from 4-1 down, before Todd Cantwell's extra-time winner at Carrow Road.
"The ball came out to me and I knew we needed a goal," Ramsay told Norwich City TV after the match.
"I fancied my chances and obviously it came off. That drove the boys on to go and get a fifth goal to win the game.
"The fight the boys had throughout was tremendous. At 4-4 I told Todd he was going to get the winner, and he went on to do it.
"It was an unbelievable game."
Ramsay was among those to have experienced playing at Carrow Road before, having represented the Club's Under-21s on a number of occasions.
Leading the way was therefore a key responsibility according to the 18-year-old, who explained: "There were some nervous faces before the game as some players hadn't had that experience before.
"It was down to players like myself and Todd to help drive them on. We looked to make them feel comfortable, because it's just another game really.
"We worked as a team and got the result. We've got a great opportunity to play at The Etihad Stadium now, which the boys deserve.
"There's momentum behind us now so we believe we can push on."
