Match Preview: Norwich City v West Ham United

West Ham are the visitors at Carrow Road for Saturday’s Premier League game (12.30pm KO), with Norwich City still looking for their first points since the restart.

Our Match Preview takes a look at how the Hammers have been getting on of late, who will be refereeing the match, and how supporters can follow the action live from home.

The opposition

West Ham began the restart with a tricky fixture list, losing 2-0 to both Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur in June.

They got July off to the perfect start, however, defying the expectations with a 3-2 win at home to in-form Chelsea, Andriy Yarmolenko’s 89th minute strike the winner at London Stadium.

A respectable 2-2 draw away to Newcastle United followed, before David Moyes’ side fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley on Wednesday night.

Those results see West Ham occupy similar territory to Watford, both on 31 points - four above the relegation zone at the time of writing - but the former displaying better goal difference.

In the 73 meetings between Norwich and West Ham since 1905, there have been 22 Norwich wins, 29 West Ham wins and 22 draws.

The Hammers last visited Carrow Road in the 2015-16 season, Slaven Bilic’s side coming from behind to draw 2-2 courtesy of goals from Dimitri Payet and Mark Noble, after Robbie Brady and Wes Hoolahan had given the Canaries the lead.

When the sides met earlier this season, Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham secured a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Sebastian Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko.

Ref watch

Kevin Friend will take charge of Saturday's game, with Simbon Beck and Peter Kirkup his assistants.

Friend has officiated 31 matches in all competitions this season, showing 88 yellow cards and six reds.

On Saturday, Stuart Attwell and Andy Garratt will be responsible for VAR.
