NORWICH City will pay their respects to the late Errol Crossan in the form of a minute's applause ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League game against Manchester United at Carrow Road (12:45pm).

Everyone at the Club was saddened to hear of the Canadian winger's recent passing, with Crossan one of the key players in City's famous FA Cup run during the 1958-59 season.

With City then a Division Three South side, Crossan notably scored against this weekend's opponents in a historic 3-0 third round win over 'The Busby Babes'.

After helping his team defeat Cardiff City and Tottenham Hotspur, Crossan's quarter-final goal against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane secured a replay for Archie Macaulay's men.

They progressed to the last four by winning the return game in Norfolk, only to eventually be beaten by Luton Town via a replay in the semi-finals.

In total, Crossan made 116 appearances for City in all competitions, scoring 32 times.

His great contribution to the Norwich cause was duly recognised in 2002 when he was inducted into the Club's Hall of Fame as part of the Canaries' centenary celebrations.
