Meet the Championship newcomers from the Premier League

Here’s our look at what City will face from the three teams who were relegated from the Premier League – Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City:

Swansea City
Home: Mar 9
Away: Nov 24

Swansea’s six-year stay in the Premier League came to an end last season as they finished three points adrift of safety under the guidance of Carlos Carvahal. He was recently replaced by Graham Potter at the helm with the Englishman moving to south Wales from Swedish side Ostersunds.

Former Canaries Martin Olsson and Leroy Fer currently ply their trade at the Liberty Stadium and could make their first returns to Carrow Road in March.

West Bromwich Albion
Home: Aug 11
Away: Jan 12

The Baggies endured a miserable campaign last season, right up until Darren Moore was handed a caretaker role and went on to guide the club to some impressive victories. Their season began under the stewardship of Tony Pulis but he was replaced by Alan Pardew in November – the change in management didn’t have the desired effect though as Albion slipped further into relegation trouble.

Pardew was relieved of his duties in April and Moore only lost one of his six matches in charge. However, it was ultimately too little, too late and Albion were relegated, although Moore’s exploits saw him handed a three-year deal as head coach in May.

Stoke City
Home: Oct 6
Away: Apr 22

Former City manager Paul Lambert was unable to steer Stoke clear to safety last season after he was drafted in to replace Mark Hughes in January and the Potters 10-year stay in the top flight was brought to an end following a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Lambert was subsequently sacked by the Stoke hierarchy and they wasted no time bringing in Derby boss Gary Rowett as their new a replacement. Rowett has acted quickly in making additions to his squad with Benik Afobe and Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo already through the Britannia Stadium doors.
