Ondrej Duda reacts to fine Norwich City debut

Ondrej Duda was delighted to mark his full Norwich City debut with an important three points on Saturday.

The new City recruit enjoyed a productive afternoon at Carrow Road, helping the Canaries to a vital 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth.

Duda flourished in the number ten role and was key in City’s return to winning ways.

Speaking to after the game, Duda said: “I’m happy of course, we are all happy. It was an important win. We did what the coach [Daniel Farke] wanted from us, we stayed compact in a tough game

“We were unlucky that we didn’t score a second goal. It could have been finished a bit earlier. But I’m happy that we won.

“It’s difficult to compare the Premier League and Bundesliga after one game. But it felt a little bit faster and it was more tactical.

“I enjoyed it a lot. I’m not disappointed I didn’t score, the most important thing was to win.”

Although it was his first game, Duda struck a good connection with his teammates, particularly his attacking partners Emi Buendia, Todd Cantwell and Teemu Pukki.

“They are smart guys. They can play football and they like to play short passes. They created a lot of chances.

“We were unlucky we didn’t get a second. But they like to play and I enjoyed playing with them.”

It was a big win for the Canaries and Duda hopes they can build on the positivity it brings.

“It’s important that we build on it. Now we have a difficult programme and difficult games coming up. It’s important we take points.”
