NORWICH City Academy Manager Richard Money pointed to the professionalism shown across the board as the Canaries' Development Squad reached the Premier League International Cup semi-finals on Monday.

A thumping 6-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb continued City's fine run in the competition, with a combination of youth and experience emphatically guiding the side into the final four.

"That type of fixture in the calendar is invaluable for our young players," Money told reporters after the game.

"To play alongside senior players whose attitude was first class, you can't buy that experience. We've had a number of occasions where we've been able to mix that kind of team, which has been good.

"I thought we played with some real quality and once we got the first goal we looked dangerous all night. The benefit of a game like that means you get a real good blend and hopefully the young players will grow from it."

Explaining what can be gained from facing a variety of opponents from across Europe, Money added: "The mix of teams is sometimes a little bit different.

"Foreign teams tend to approach it slightly differently to ourselves, which is another good experience. They're very much a counter-attacking team but we really got on top of them and didn't allow them out.

"It was a good learning curve for the kids and the senior players were absolutely outstanding with their attitude."
